Though I really wanted this piece posed, I'm surprised it even ran enough to get an officers-side shot! This thing ran like a top! After being sold to the Country FD of Madison County, NC in the 1990's, Upper Hominy bought this piece back from them in 2007. This was UHFD's first new fire truck and is in the process of being restored!

The M-37 series of 3/4 ton utility trucks was produced by Dodge from 1949 until the early 1960's. It replaced the WC series, also by Dodge, from the WWII era. This one has a longer bed than typical and the front bumper isn't stock either. The M-37's were replaced by the 5/4 ton Kaiser (Jeep) M-715 series beginning in 1967.

Though obviously no longer lettered and well out of service, here are two of Asheville's old trucks that they traded into Brindlee Mtn Fire Apparatus. I always loved this truck & hated to see it go! The trucks must have been transported to Brindlee Mtn only hours after these shots, because pics of them parked on Brindlee Mtn's lot appeared on BMFA's website the very next day.

Thanks for the info Dave!!!
And here's the other Asheville piece that left that day. I always thought this was a unique looking truck. Unfortunately it had many problems with the engine overheating. It served a long career as Engine 5 from the Hendersonville Road station, then was demoted to Reserve Engine 11 sometime in the last few years. It remained out of service mainly, due to its engine problems.

What did Asheville get to trade these in? Normally, Brindlee Mtn. works with E\-One as a primary source. Isn't Asheville buying Pierce?

Indeed Asheville is buying Pierce these days. They actually have two Pierce 75' quints and at least one Pierce engine on order right now! However, for the trading all those trucks to Brindlee Mtn, Asheville got a 1996 Pierce Arrow XT 4x4 heavy rescue that formerly served as "Squad 2316" in Creve Couer, Missouri. Every time I've tried to shoot the "new" truck, nobody is at Station 11 to pull it out. Persistence pays off though, I'll get it eventually!

I would love to see shots of the former Creve Coeur rescue once you get a chance to shoot it! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Andrew,
I might have asked you this before - but do to my old age I don't remember, are you anywhere near this in your great state of North Carolina ?
1979 GMC Brigadeer/4-Guys, full cab, 1000/3000, front-mount pump, Cummins diesel motor, 290HP, 6-speed manual transmission, tandem rear axles, stainless steel elliptical tanker. Originally owned by the Honey Brook FC (Chester County, PA). It was housed on 5/10/80 at a cost of $65,000. It has a rather unique feature to it in that it has a large diameter hose reel in the rear compartment which holds 500' of 4". It was sold on 7/31/99 to the Geigertown Fire Company (Berks County, PA) for $35,000. Sold in 05/07 by Geigertown to Lake Waccamaw (Columbus County, NC).
The reason I am asking of course is that I need a shot of it.
Many thanks,
Bruce

Bruce, No, unfortunately Lake Waccamaw is way on the other side of the state. It's down in the corner of NC near Myrtle Beach, SC, on the coast.
Here are some new trucks I've shot recently! I'm proud to post this first one, as it is the newest addition to my agency!

This truck was part of a two-part order by Dana. This truck, the 1250/1500 was assigned to Tanker 19. The other truck was a 1500/1100 and was assigned to Engine 19-2. Last year, Dana sold Engine 19-2 to Sylva, NC (pics to come in a few minutes) and reassigned Tanker 19 to Engine 19-2. So here we have the former Tanker 19 now lettered as Engine 19-2.
