My New 68' Young
#41
Remove and place with all new stripe. I should have somewhat of a quote tomorrow, it is going to really bring this engine back to life I think.

Spring is here in VA and my projects around the house are caught up, that only means one thing, time to work on the engine. I spent most of the day cleaning and doing some paint work on the Crusader, here are a few shots.

First I mounted the axes on the rear, this is where Dansville kept their axes so I want to keep it close to original.

Next the wire wheel and paint made an appearance and I knocked out a good portion of the diamond plate.

Last for today I started adding some hose to the cross lays. I should have more tomorrow if weather works with me.

Looking sharp! It is amazing what a little wire and some paint can do to old steel diamond plate. Good luck on your continuing restoration.

More progress from today. First on the list was to sandblast some bad rust spots from the officers side diamond plate.

This is an awesome beast Andy. I was born in Dansville and spent part of my childhood up the road in Conesus. It's kinda cool a classic rig from up there made it here to VA.

It's looking great, keep up the good work.

A Dansville guy, wow, that is rare. I will have it at the 4th parade in Dale City if you are planning on attending.

Thanks,
