Do you ever get down to Singer in VA? Curious if anyone has seen the Dulles and Nationals Arrow XTs.[/quote]

Occasionally I do make it to Singer's but have not there for about 3 weeks or so. If there is a shop around I usually hit them up on a regular basis as I pass through the area. I have even looked up places in New Jersey,Conn., and North Carolina.

But I have not seen the engines in question...

For Tennessee the closest service center for Pierce is Pro-Fire's service center. It's located in Memphis. Singer has a shop in Roanoke, Va, 2 hrs up the road. Not sure why it would be in Gainesville which is a good 6 hours from Kingsport.

Pierce has a service center in Roanoke, VA. That is ran by Singer Associates as well as the others in Virginia.

While I'll agree that Roanoke is much closer to Kingsport than Memphis, the distance from Kingsport to Memphis is approximately 422.0 miles.

No biggie, John. Years ago, that was Harless Fire Equipment territory. In 1992, Harless delivered a trio of Lance pumpers to Kingsport and the two Bristols, differing only in paint and graphics. The Virginia dealer was not involved. Sometimes sales territory lines get a bit fuzzy!

I have NO idea how I missed this post!! It is indeed an S&S tank... we have had a number of problems with it... the biggest of which was that they used the wrong sized body mounts and we wound up twisting the whole fire body down and to the right. Basically when you looked at it from behind the bumper sat lower on the right side than on the left. S&S of course said it wasn't there fault, it was Mack's fault, the body mount company's fault, our fault, and Powercall's fault for making such awesome sirens <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' /> . In the process of fixing it they basically destroyed our port-a-tank cover that was custom painted and rigged something else to break (in this case the tank to pump line). I think everything has now been fixed and S&S has gone out of business now. This tanker was a mess from the begining.. the chassis was purchased with an order from a local feed mill to lower the price but it was to be painted different than the feed mill trucks... well guess what...if your answer is that it was painted in the same colors and design as the Wenger Feed Mill trucks.. give yourself a point. Mack knocked money off but after a little bit of time we actually sort of liked the way it looked so our 2 new KME's are painted the same way.
