Any florida departments still running pumps on their medics, what was the outcome of having them on the medics?

Hey Alex, the Pierce Arrow XT that we once saw at Engine 93 - is that now Dania Engine 1? Thanks!

Alex,

I believe so but I could be wrong... the picture above was taken in front of the new Dania Beach Station-93, I was completely unaware that Dania Beach had any plans to part away from Hollywood Station-74... very interesting!!

However I'll double check and see if the Arrow XT was reassigned to E1 and if this Quantum is permanently assigned to E93.

Here is West Palm Beach R6 @ TEN-8 Service Center, one of two 2009 International Durastar/MEDTEC rescues recently delivered.

Is there any reason for the amber lights on the front of the ambulances? Doesn't strike me as a "GET OUT OF THE WAY" color.
Paramedics: Because firefighters need heros too!

I agree... I believe amber lights should only be on the sides and/or rear.

Tamarac and Deerfield also have amber lights in front....Zone A....There is a reason why NFPA 1901 prohibits amber in the front.....unfortunately NFPA standards don't cover fire rescue ambulances...YET....nontheless....builders and those specing units should learn from the 1901 standard

Couple things today...

Making my rounds, I stopped by TEN-8 to check if anything interesting was parked outside, as I pulled up Palm Beach Gardens R65 (2009 International/MEDTEC) was leaving to be delivered, I was able to grab a quick shot as it drove away... and ofcourse after they left the sun comes out <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Banghead' />

City of Miami R2 was also sitting outside so I decide to take better shots then the one previously posted since the sun was out <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/luxhello.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Luxhello' />

I also got a tip that Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue recieved three 2009 International/Taylor Made rescues over the weekend... I stopped by the shop and my luck it started pooring <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bitch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> They'll be assigned to R47, R247 & R246.

Alwals have loved the PBG paint color. Just wondering if the rotoray gets in the way of the hood opening. Seams a little tight. Or it could just be the angle of the pic. Thanks for the post, nice shots of all.

You mean like air suspension for the rear...for comfort of ride? I guess that makes sense. Whenever I see Sarasota County medic units load patients, they always lower the suspension electronically...
