I am very calm and very humored... I just thought that maybe (as hard as it is for me to believe it would happen to you) you were mistaken and got me confused with another handsome gentleman with extremely nice facial hair.. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Lol' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Lol' />

This pumper is a reserve piece for the Loudon County Fire Department, it orignally served the training school in the county. One of the coolest things I have seen (although it is hard to see in this picture) is that this piece has a clear pump panel cover to show the new operators what is happening in the pump as they do things. It is such a damn awesome idea and I just had to share it with you!!

Dave, the tanker is an S&S 750/3000. Also, the brush was bought new by the former volunteer component of Neersville, I shot this back in 1997. Sharpsburg did have a 1991 Ford F stretch cab brush (the White Mule) that lasted about 15 years.

Dave, nice photos from Loudoun. Note that Loudoun is often misspelled.

A couple of notes:

Engine 16 - I agree with you that the "see thru" pump panel is very interesting. My understanding is that this Pierce will become a "ready reserve" for the county since Engine 16 received one of the newer Pierce engines last year.

Brush 16 - the skid package came from Sharpsburg. Prior to that, the pick up truck had a very basic water tank and minimal tools.

Tanker 12 and Wagon 12 were ordered and delivered together from Pierce. They came off the Pierce line together.

Engine 12 use to be "Attack 12", and is one of my favorite trucks in Loudoun County.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

Mike,

One of my biggest disappointments of the trip was the fact that I wasn't going to get to meet you. I had said to Patrick about trying to call you and see if there was a chance of meeting up with you... but I forget that my "weekend" is Monday-Tuesday and you were most likely at work. I have one more set of pictures from Loudoun County.... which I will post in a little bit. Thank you for the updated information on the pictures posted!!!
