Yes and I think so. It's NE of Pittsburgh somewhere.

Wasn't planning on it. Being from NY and living in GA has given me many opportunities to shoot apparatus while on trips to visit family back home over the past 25 years.

These were never combined; the Century replaced the 1000 Series.

Also to add to Steve's post, there is a appearance difference between the 1000 series and the Century Series. The 1000 series pretty much kept the appearance of the 900 cab with some slight modifications but the jumpseat area was still straight in line with the front of the cab and had exposed front fenders. With the introduction of the Century Series, the jumpseat area is "rounded out" right behind the front seating area and included a rounded side windo to fit the contour of the cab. This was done to give a wider seating area for the jumpseats and about 3/4 of the front fender was covered by this contour.

Ladder 57, Irwin, PA

American LaFrance Century

100' (rebuilt from 90' Aero Chief)

[/quote]

This was taken out of service due to it not passing certification. There was some tension between the department and the borough as to who should replace it. It was replaced by a used aerial. I can't seem to remember what though. That truck recemtly replaced by a KME rearmount tower, repainted to match the Irwin fleet and also new emergency lights added.
