Does anyone know if Pierce is offering the Arrow XT in the extended cab (Norfolk rigs) as a standard option now? Thats the first time I have seen it.

T-Bone, I understand that the 77" cab is and option on the Arrow XT. Since the death of the Lance and Dash it appears that the Arrow line has all of the cab options that Pierce offered. Also the Saber also has a 67" cab option.

The Extended Cab Arrow-XT crew cab is actually 81.00" from the center of the front axle to the back of the cab. This option is now a standard pick and is no longer a special pricing option.

As for the Saber Extended Crew Cab, it's orignal purpose was for use with the PUC pump. It is now available across the board on all body codes, with or without the PUC pump. The Saber Extended Crew Cab is 69.00" from the center of the front axle to the back of the cab.

I also heard that the Arrow XT was going to have the option of having a single A/C unit mounted in the middle instead of the twin units.

Wow the Arrow XT has gone from the urban, hardwired, old school chassis to all of the options of the Dash with keeping the look of a firetruck. Man and I was told that the Lance and Dash where replaced by the Velocity because of the 2010 emmissions but it appears that the Arrow fits the bill <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

The Arrow-XT chassis was designed / re-designed with the 2010 EPA standards in mind.

The larger cooling systems and other emission packaging issues are one of the main reasons why the cab is 3.00" taller and is 3.00" longer forward of the centerline of the front axle than a Dash, Lance, or Enforcer cab shells.

Ye I know trust me I know. I just think its funny that the Dash, Lance, or Encore couldn't get these few tweaks to remain available but hey it wasnt up to me. It should be clear to Pierce that the Arrow XT is the fan favorite now.

Now with the AC unit going to the middle of the cab roof its almost perfect <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Couldn't agree more Dr Feelgood. After viewing both Arlington's new Arrow XT's and Fairfax's new Velocity's up close I can definitely see the popular pendulum swinging in dominant favor of the XT's. So far the only complaint I have heard is that the officers seat is a little tight in terms of room.

This is what the new Eng-3 is replacing. It is supposed to become Eng-301 but that is not set in stone.
