I usally use Rustolium "Alluminum Color" Paint to do running boards.
I forget the name off the top of my head, but it is a barn grde silver from a farming store. Works well, and dries with NO brush marks.

Some more work updates. I got the quote back for the gold leaf and determined that just the cab is going to be redone due to cost. What I am doing is removing the gold off the body and painting pin stripes on the lower compartments to match the smaller ones that were originally there. Tell me what you think.

Looks sharp! Who do you have doing the gold leaf?
VSP out of the Buffalo NY area. I was going through Heartland in Stafford but after 5 months and not even a quote I said to hell with them.
