the Glastonbury Hahn is a 1983 model with the older cab. it was originally a 1000 gallon tank but was replaced due to leaking issues. 8V92TA Detroit with a 5spd manual tranny. originally assigned to Co. 3 as Engine 32. i don't know when they came up with the "engine-tank" designation. this was the fifth of a total of six Hahns that served Glastonbury. sad to see it go..........

I originally spoke with Dan Sheridan, a great guy. He put me on to Pete Lazaro from Bedford Fire Dept. He's been handeling the trucks and the equipment. I bet Dan was great to work with.

Possibly x-Gilford, NH. They use the 8-series of callsigns, and their current Engine 2 is a 2003 KME. The lettering looks similar, too.

it's surprising that they are still there considering some of them have been there for close to 15 years.

That's good to know, that these are not 'relics' but awaiting a second life somewhere less fortunate. That would also explain all the extra equipment, such as the turnout gear in the cab of the yellow Ford, the neatly packed hose in the bed of the Ex-Saltsburg engine, and all the additional rolled hose. Too bad there are too many regulations/liabilities for giving it to less fortunate departments here at home.

That appears to be the old Harrisburg Engine 1. They must have repainted it though. It use to White/Red w/ White Stripe. I think Harrisburg traded a total of three rigs in when they got the two towers. The Mack/LDI engine, the Mack Tower, and the oldest Sutphen Tower. You have posted two of them.



Are any of these rigs for sale?? If those two mack towers aren't in bad shape, I could see somebody remounting them, or even a private collector buying them.

Unfortunately, my visit was in November of 2008. I'm not sure if those rigs are still there.

Yeah, 99% sure this is ex-Gilford, NH. Either a 1975 or 76, Howie would know for certain.

There are a lot of dept's right here in New York State that could use help. Last year I donated a 1988 MackCF/ward79 from Harrison New York [code 3 model] to a small dept.in Middlefield New York that lost the pump on there only pumper. They now have two front line rigs, the other a matching 1983 Mack CF from Jereco Long Island They went from crap to twin Bulldogs from donations from right within our great state .
