Some notes on a few of my photos:
Post 5687--CCP was an abbreviation I had used for Conestoga Custom Productions. This Mack was rehabbed about 1994 by Swab including a cab enclosure. A few years ago, Middletown's three fire companies, Union, Liberty and Rescue, merged as the Middletown Fire Dept. Post 5778--This ALF was used very briefly by Progress FC before being rehabbed by Interstate and going to Edgemont. Post 5794--Now in service with the Seven Valleys FC in York County, PA. Post 5856--Still in service at Mount Gretna in Lebanon County, PA. See more of my photos at Firewagonphoto.com

This was one of 3 1968 CF-600 pumpers that Massapequa ran into the early 1990's. Until the delivery of 3 Pierce Dash pumpers in 1983, Massapequa ran an all Mack fleet from the 1940's. All 3 CF pumpers were originally delivered with the Spicer 2 speed automatic transmission, because Mack was unable to configure the longer Allison HT-70 automatic transmission into the CF chassis until around 1972 or 73. Because of the distance between the back of the engine and front of the pump, Mack was just not able to get the longer bodied Allison HT-70 into their chassis. When Allison came out with the slightly shorter HT-740 and MT-600 series, both of these fit into the CF chassis and Mack was able to stop using the 2 speed Spicer transmissions. The Laurel Run unit was in service in Massapequa's Park House as unit 6325. The Spicer tranny in it gave out in the 80's and it was outfitted with an Allison automatic, the only one of the three to get that upgrade. [/quote] this has been on ebay a few times last year unknown as to where it resides now
