After the city shut down Ladder 27 (quartered with Engine 20) there was an outcry in the neighborhood. To placate the neighbours the city purchased a 1984 Sutphen 1500/400 67' quint (the only one we've ever had). It was in service for a few years and then disposed of.

When you say a few years you mean from 1984 to about 1997...

I think both "BAT 1" and "BAT 2" ...The Sutphens both had pumps and you could by a E One Tower with out a pump back then...

Also remember that "The Tower Unit" ran with 2 peices the 95' tower and the Squirt...which was E 7's former Ford Sutphen (1250 or 1500GPM)chassise that was referbed by Greenwood with a E One body and the squirt... The Squirt ran with the Tower in the way a Wagon ran with a Engine...

Boston E20 and a Houston Texas Ladder at the fire in Quincy. No ladders available in metro fire that day. Oh I left out the word "muster".

Wow.....1 of about 15 or 16 '86 Spartan/Conestoga/LTI 108' rigs with 250 or 300GPM pumps and 300 gallon tanks. Hottest running trucks ever in HFD in terms of the jumpseats. Ha.

Great picture.

Now known as Z1, Special Response Chief. Districts 5 & 10 were eliminated July 1st. Z1 covers any district where the chief is at training, he responds on ALL Mutual Aid outside the city and he is the 2nd Alarm chief citywide. He remains in the quarters of Engine 37 & Ladder 26.

I think that's Ladder 21's former 1989 E\-One. If you loom on the front right corner, just above or below the vehicle ID number is a code. ST=Spare Truck, SR=Spare Rescue & SP=Spare Pumper. I believe this piece has ST21 on the front corner.
