This is one of two Pierce Enforcers delivered last Thursday to Glick's Fire Equipment Co. for the Elkins Park Fire Co. with a 1750gpm and job#18518-02,sorry it had only been there for about 10 minutes and it was a little DIRTY to say the least!

The Spring Grove rescue is a 1984 Sutphen/Ranger. Was built for Cumberland-Goodwill of Carlisle and was sold to Centre Square Fire Co. before heading to Spring Grove.

Additional info:



1961 Ward LaFrance Firebrand, 1000 gpm. Once in service at West Brighton FD-Brighton (Monroe Co.),NY. In 1980s purchased by Joliett FC (Schuylkill Co.),PA where it had a cab roof. In 1997 motor blown.

Additional info:



1984 Sutphen/Ranger, Cincinnati cab, 22 ft aluminum box delivered new to Goodwill-Cumberland of Carlisle (Cumberland Co.),PA painted white over red. In 1993 sold to Centre Square FC (Montgomery Co.),PA. In 2004 was taken to Detroit diesel facility in Johnstown,OH where motor completely rebuilt. In 2004 sold to Frtiendship Hose-Spring Gove (York Co.),PA where repainted yellow and white by PA Fire Apparatus.

I'm sorry Principal Stinebaugh but I tried to get them to stop for show and tell but they just wouldn't stop and then this nice new Pierce came along and I forgot everything.Where and when is this spotting,wait I think that was a Pierce,I gotta go........

Actually, "class" is in session all the time here on Firepics, thanks to Al Powell, Bruce Anderson, among many others. Most of the apparatus threads have something educational, and as Bill Cosby said "be careful or you might just learn something"! I'm afraid the new Pierces just make me fondly remember the early 80's Pierce Arrow or even a 70's Ford C-cab...

No problem! I agree that school is always in session and I had never seen one of these trucks so I posted what I knew and that was not very much and now I know.I also agree that some of the older trucks have more character than any of the newer ones will ever have. With that being said I'm late for class...
