R-1's 1939 Ward LaFrance was eventually reassigned to R-4. On July 31, 1954, R-4 and L-136 collided while enroute to separate alarms, both rigs caught fire and exploded and 2 firemen from L-136 were killed.
The only MARC in 46 ENGINE!

In these 2 photos you can see the rear "skirts' are off and the headlights are different ) Repaired from the major accident they were in sometime in 1946. The rig was back in service in 1947. in 1948 it was re-assigned to Rescue 4.

Looks as if Res4cuE was a step child and got all of R-1's smashed up trucks. Now that is not fair. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_lalala.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Icon_lalala' />

fordham was quite busy with calls this morning, i dont know what this run was for as all i saw some guy run in front of engine 48 speak to them in a loud but peaceful manner and that was it for the run( a 10-20 was given) ladder 33 was over on 184th and valentine (told to remain in service), ladder 37 (running a Seagrave rearmount that looks like its on its final days) treked over from the 200th st area only to show up on scene and get another run to go back to 207 and bainbridge. 79 was still on another box and to my suprise thats when 88 showed up, wanted to get a better and closer shot of it (not a cropped one) but well every bronxite and fire company surrounding the area know Fordham rd motorist arent the friendliest for crossing let alone photo taking and the people jumping in front of your lens at every opportunity.

Was told the new Ladders will be Ferrara rearmounts. Not sure if this is true but it looks like it. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dreurotruck.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Dreurotruck' />

That's the hot rumor making the rounds on the various forums, but I don't think any bid has officially been awarded as of yet.

I stopped at 88/38 when I was up over the weekend. I was hoping to get the engine, but it was being worked on. It looks very sharp with the new graphics!
