njfirepix,

Would you happen to have any pictures of the fire station at the Picatinny Arsenal that is in the background of these shots?

I might have a pic of the station. I have to check my files. They just recently moved into a new station that was put on the base.

This Truck replaced the 1996 Pierce Quantam pumper. The 96 Quantam was sold to Confluence. Engine 8 a 1978 ALF was retired and sold to one of our members. Truck 8 will be our first out unit on structure calls. This truck did not replace the 1993 tower. Hope this helps. By the way the new truck is at the dealer, it was to be delivered last week but wasn't because of all the snow.

Question...and it's probably already answered but I didn't see it <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Shrug' /> ...is Smeal still building the steel aerials for Pierce, or is Pierce building all thier own stuff? And who is building the aluminum sticks for them?

For all intents and purposes, Pierce is building their own aerials now, the company that builds them only builds their aerials for Pierce. I have wondered about their aluminum aerials too.

Pierce is building there own aluminum sticks.

ALL Pierce aerials, both steel and aluminum, are built by Pierce at Pierce.

Thanks guys, I was curious since the design still closely resembles a Smeal design on the steel ones at least.
