Irwin's Duplex/Thibault ladder. This is for sale and is being replaced by a used KME tower.[/quote]

Still have the copies of these you sent me a while ago. You got some good shots. Especially Joe hard at work again! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

Thanks again for those pics. I'll have to post a few whenever I get my old computer hooked up.

It's in the shop now. From what I was told last night, the compartment doors and interior are painted. They should have the whole rig primed by the end of next week. Did you get a chance to see it before it went out?

Here is one that I didn't take notes on... this pieces belongs to the Steel City Fire Department outside of Bethlehem, Pa. I can't recall the exact story on it or even what it is other than strange.

that is a strange looking rig

I don't know the department but it is a Pierce Lance with a enclosed(now) pump panel and I would say late 80's early 90's before Pierce changed front doors and obviously has had a major refurb,I think Micro Fire Apparatus is up that way.

Am I up to 2 cents yet?

It looks like it says Superior on the front, which would be the Canadian E\-One dealer. Maybe a E\-One refurb with a Pierce cab?????
Reply
it has to many lightbars on it.

Now that you mention it the truck does look like a Superior body and Pierce did have an agreement with them beginning in 1987 and they built 130 plus units before the end of the agreement.(Information from the Pierce history book page 73.)

If my memory serves me it says Simon on the front of it and lists a town in Iowa I think... but I can't recall for sure. It is a really weird Pierce... they told me the story on it and I can't for the life of me remember it.

If you think this one is strange, wait until they get the Spartan/Toyne 4x4 that will be delivered later this summer!

I believe the story is the rig was involved in a rollover accident and was rebuilt by Simon, a small builder out of Iowa. I can't remember where it was originally delivered.

According to FAJ May-June 2005 it is a 1989 Pierce Lance from Blacksburg, VA and Simon Fire Equipment rebuilt the unit.
