Micah and I made a little spur-of-the-moment venture around Asheville the other day in search of the new Asheville Haz-Mat 2. We turned up with no Haz-Mat 2, but we did shoot these rigs.



This Freightliner is serving its last days at Beaverdam. It's being replaced on July 1st by a 2007 ALF Eagle engine that formerly served Haw Creek, NC. The new ALF Eagle will be Engine 17 and this truck will be moved to Woodfin FD for storage.

I realize it was probably way too late to be shooting "good pictures" but at some of these little middle-of-nowhere VFD's, evenings might be the only time you can catch someone there.
