Engine 343 is a restored 1951 Mack LS 95 set up as a living/rolling memorial to the department's losses on 9-11-01.

Here it is moving out of E15/L18 in Manhattan in preparation for the Wounded Warriors Parade.

Next is in the Rockaways next to a current Seagrave

Phil, Bklyn

Here is a pair of axes donated by the brothers in the LAFD (all the way across America!). They're being added to the rig in time for the Wounded Warriors parade.

Gotta admit, this rig is one BEAUTIFUL piece of machinery!!!! I marched with my fellow FDNY Brothers in the 2006 Chicago Southside St. Patrick's Day Parade. The FDNY Fire Family Transport Fund had this rig flat-bedded out to Chicago just for the parade. It led the FDNY contingent. The parade was GREAT TIME, and we were treated like royalty out there!!!!

Gotta love the Windy City!!!!!!!
The only MARC in 46 ENGINE!

NEVER FORGET 9-11-01 F.D.N.Y. 343

[b]I'm glad that you enjoyed the "Windy City" when you were here in Chicago. As a bit of CFD history Chicago also had a fleet of similar Mack Engines however they all had permanent cabs in our famous black over red color scheme. The last cab less pumper that Chicago had delivered was in 1932 and after that they all were built with cabs. Chicago had 32 1949 and 5 1951 Mack 1,000 gpm[ pumpers, not to mention 6 1948 Sedan (crew cab) Mack pumpers./b]

Engine-41 was disbanded on May 3, 1989. It was then reorganized on July 1, 1990 as an "Enhanced Engine", SQUAD-41 in it's 1981 Mack #MP-8109...................
