What would classify engine 41 as a enhanced engine? is there a diffrence between squad 41 and enhanced engine 41??

If I remember correctly, when 41 was reopened, it was 1st classified an Enhanced Engine, then went to a Squad. (with Sq1 and then 41 the 2-"originals")

It went out of service a few years ago and is waiting to be restored as a parade piece. we also bought an 86 mack tower ladder that was very close to city specs grey boom and all red paint . its still serving us well but up for replacement next year with a Seagrave baker. and 1 other note billy quick who was pictured on this thread is a member of our dept and quite the character.

J. The stars are a give away, but if you look closely at the grill of this rig, you can see where the "88" used to be.



As per E88/L38's 100th Anniversary Centennial book, this rig was a 1975 Mack FDNY reg# 7510, Received on Sept. 29, 1975. It is now in service in Puerto Rico.

Possibly the '83 ALF Funeral Caison? It was never in frontline service and was kept out at The Rock, which is where this pic was taken.

Right, I believe they carried a set of Jaws too. Next time I see my old Captain (Batt. Chief now), i'll ask him the difference. He went to 41 when they re-opened it in '90.

LOL, didn't notice the "88", but the stars told me- Knew it probably wasn't a 1978, due to the siren in grille
