Not really sure what the deal with this little fella was. It said "In Memory of 2471" on the side of it, which would be a member of Millers Creek VFD. Not sure whether this is privately owned, or a parade truck restoration in progress or what. Anyhow, here's what I know...

And finally, here's the last one I'll post. I shot almost 90 trucks at the parade, but these few were the only ones worth posting here. Check out the WNC Fire Pics website to see them all. I was 491 pics behind on editing! They're all posted on the WNC website now.

Good stuff, Andrew! I think we should do an overnighter this fall in Wilkes County, like we did last year in Rowan County.

Thanks Dave! That sounds like an excellent plan to me! Only drawback is, 99% of the FD's in Wilkes County are volunteer. Maybe we can make a few connections between now & then.

So for right now, it's hanging out near the highway, advertising their fireworks stand. This truck was donated to them by Seymour, TN.

Up here in Jersey we have many fire companies who sponsor public fireworks displays by licensed pyrotechnic professionals. One thing I've never heard of is a fire company actually selling fireworks. But, different traditions happen in various places. I know those in much of the nation have trouble understanding our fire companies having club liquor licenses as fund raisers.
