is it me or did fdny ever run one of those bread trucks that was packed full of hose and it might have been another piece to the tender that survived after the super pumper had been retired. I recall seeing something like that back at a job in the mid 80's on a job on the grand councourse but then again i was about 5 so i might have just made it up. lol

Nice one M ! Also, many FDNY companies have long standing traditions on switching the customized numbers from rig to rig to rig ! I can only imagine how old some are ! For instance, here on L27, L58, and L38's rig u will see the "3-8" on the 1974, 1978 , 1990 , and still on the newest rig too.

10-4, I was actually gonna comment on that. The same "2-7" metal numbers on the front of that tiller are now on 27's current rig. They were up on the wall in our sitting room. Seems they didn't get put on the current rig for whatever reason, so we put them back on about 2 years ago.



The large red "4-6" that was on our '81 Mack (pic in my avatar), are on the wall in 46 officer's office.

M, I have a pic of 46 I took at a job on Gun Hill Rd, after it was repainted red, and seeing the 4-6 flashing from down the block- always thought that was cool !

They started adding the "D" to mean Dual Axle, but when they all started coming that way, they dropped it.

Saw on the Nassau Rant, somebody got the info from a "FDNY mechanic" saying that is the case. Whether it is or not, I don't know.



People in the same post are claiming to have seen a 102-foot Ferrara demo with no name badge on it (HME chassis?) running around. Red flag right there.....Ferrara's ladder height increments end in 7.

No Red-Flag there, Ferrara does offer a 102-Low Profile Rear Mount and a 100-foot SHD Rear Mount. Elmont,NY is getting a 102-Reamount, maybe that's what they saw.
