Does anybody know what happened to the Spartan/Luverne that was donated after Sept. 11, 2001?

I believe I have seen it being used as a caisson for line of duty funerals. I think the Bureau of Training maintains it at the Fire Academy. I sure someone else will confirm or correct.

The Fire Patrol can trace its beginnings back to 1803, when the Mutual Assistance and Bag Corporation was formed by a group of volunteers to protect and preserve the contents of buildings from fire and water damage.



Today, these goals remain paramount. The Patrol preserves and protects everything from museum works of art to sophisticate electronic and computer equipment in high-rise buildings.



The Fire Patrol's firehouses (two in Manhattan, one in Brooklyn), respond 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week with these activities being supported by assessments on all property insurance written in the Patrol's territory.



In fact, the Fire Patrol responds to more than 10,000 alarms annually, savings only pertain to contents; they do not include the savings to buildings, uninsured property and contingent coverage’s. Inclusion of these components would dramatically increase this figure.

It was a little out of it's first due area....responding from a hill off of Highway 41 in Appleton, WI.

FDNY actually does do mutual aide, and has boxes set aside for each location they can go to for m/a.

Every once in a while they respond into Hudson County, NJ, especially if the incident is near the Lincoln or Holland Tunnel. Rescue 1 responded last December to help search for the two JCPD ESU officers that drove off an opened drawbridge into the Hackensack River.

In this case, the pic of Ladder 62 has nothing to do with a mutual aid response.

Ladder 62 is not a official company from the FDNY. Ladder 62 is the Truck Company from the TV series "Rescue Me".
