I have always wanted to get some Richmond pics with the old Ethyl Corporation building as a background. Just never been by there at various times of day to see when is best to catch the sun in the right position. I am guessing these pics were taken with the building facing the James River, so I don't know if the sun would ever swing around behind you.

Time will tell. Rumors say going back to the Mars 888 but others say staying with Roto-Ray.
BTW there is a Richmond Apparatus Thread in here.[/quote]
Last we were told, the apparatus committee had talked about mars 888 (my personal favorite) and roto-rays. They were told that most likely neither would be on future apparatus due to the cost of those warning lights.

Paul, when the offical Pierce photographer in town back in 1999 to shoot all five types of rides that we bought, we shot a series at Ethyl and I had to get their permission for us to use the building and property as a back ground while on their property. We did use 2nd street by the Virginia War Memorial as well, parking the rides on the street and having Ethyl's building as a back ground and aslo several downtown buildings too.

is this a brand new station for 11?? When I was in the county a couple of months back doing station photos, Station 11 was a small 3-bay building that was still occupied. just curious
