NICE!!! They still had this rig when I was a young cop next door in the 48th Pct. It was replaced about 6 months before I transferred into 46.
M, When u do to receive a new one ? I assume not for at least 2-4 yrs ?
out of curiosity are there any pre fdny ems pics in this pile???
May be one or 2. I also have pix of older jobs too- the 1st disc, which all these scans are from are small/bad quality. When finished , I will post the better bigger pix (like pic of E-72) The older ones are here, with some late 80/90's stuff on newer disc.
The replacement process is every 10 years, and since our current rig is an '03, we should receive a new one in 2013.
Thought they went to shooting for 8-yrs recently................

They carried the Pompiers a long time, stopped a few years back, think an order came out to remove them, M ?

The Pompier Ladders are a thing of the past. They were gone way before I got on the job, and i've been on for just over 8 years.

Forgot exact year, but I know they were on all the Trucks up until the 90's sometime. Also,M- Does 27 carry a "Bangor" ?
Also, my buddy ran into Gene Dowling, ret Chief FDNY who received medals for Pompier Ladder rescues w/ L-25 at the Morgan Annex Post Office fire in Manhattan years back

The reason I asked is that there appears to be a Pompier Ladder on this rig, if you look along the ladder just above where the rear steps are, it looks like the steps of the said ladder.

Negative on the "Bangor". The largest portable ladder carried on FDNY Trucks is the 35'. And yes, i've read about Gene Dowlings Pompier rescue. Received the James Gordon Bennett Medal for that one, and rightfully so!!!

I believe that Chelsea ( Massachusetts ) Tower Ladder 1 was an ''add on" to this order....
