Fritz, I've promised you this since October of 2007. After well over a dozen trips to Orebank, I FINALLY caught someone there to move the trucks around!

Andrew,
It is great that you finally got a shot of this old girl, I have hauled ALOT of water in this thing!!! Detroit 6V92 motor with a 10 Speed Fuller Roadroanger....as we talked about it makes more smoke than a freight train, it takes a while to get it up to speed but it is a hell of a piece!!! It is really great to see her again, I miss the heck out of it. One of these days I really have to make a trip down to Orebank and see if in person again.. maybe take a ride or drive it again!!!
Excellent shots as usual. Info on the Lansdowne (Delaware County, PA) rig:
1975 Hahn 84, canopy cab, 1500/500, model HCP-15, delivered 8/21/75 at a cost of $60,000, first unit ordered with a canopy cab and the new white over red paint scheme. Due to space limitation in station-kept at Yeadon FC station for the first year-prompting a group visitation to borough council-result was construction of "tin shed" on the municipal parking lot to house truck-torn down in 1986 when new station was built. It was replaced in 2001 and put up for sale by the borough. They thought they could get more for it – sat outside – not sold until 01/03 for $5,000 to the Lakeview VFD, Rogersville-Mooresburg (Hawkins County, TN).
I fully intend to re-shoot these in the sun sometime soon. I have a contact that's willing to pose them all for us, possibly even shoot them himself. Who wants to make a trip back to Lakeview with me?
I take it you do not like Anchor Richey, why? Just wondering thats all.
He's just sore because when he stopped there to shoot the rigs sitting around, some mean lady chased him off. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
It's a loooong story UnionMedic. If you've got a few hours, I'll explain one day! haha Basically they treated Micah and I like terrorists when we visited their shop two years ago. They were very very rude and inhospitable to us. My last words before leaving their shops were "I guess we won't be buying our next truck from these people!!!" (and of course I had to say that loud enough for the mean lady to hear!)

[quote name='Andrew2340' post='310838' date='Jun 3 2009, 21:47 ']United-Baileyton had a couple other interesting trucks, most of which were built by smaller companies or locally made. They had two tankers, two brush trucks, a new KW/Pierce Contender engine, and a Weapons Carrier, but the only other thing that struck my interest was a 1971 F750/Ward LaFrance engine that formerly served "Canton Fire Dept." It had Spec # 73-605. Anyone out there with a Ward LaFrance database?
The next trip started out in Northview-Kodak, TN at Station 2. Dave, Mark, Micah, and I shot NKVFD Station 1 in late 2007.

Alright, hang on a second here.... they have a WEAPONS CARRIER and you were interested in a Ford/WLF pumper... we REALLY need to get your priorites straight here Andrew.... Weapons Carrier comes WAY before Ford/WLF pumper <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.... Than again I would have chosen that over the Mack R pumper but only because I shot the Mack R before <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> . In looking over all of these pictures of stuff from up here that is now serving down there I really, really need to plan like a 5 week vacation down there (and you can come up to Franklin County and work dispatch for me.. it will be great fun!!!). Speaking of Franklin County, let me know when you want to come back Up North again...I am now in Franklin County (Waynesboro to be exact) and we have a couple of stations with nice colored apparatus.. I will post examples for you but not of thier big stuff (examples to show color).
Special Unit 44 from Franklin Fire Company, Chambersburg, Pa
Squad 3 from Rescue Hose Company, Greencastle, Pa
Brush 11 from Pleasent Hall Fire Department, Pleasent Hall, Pa
Engine 12-1 from Fannett-Metal Fire Department, Dry Run, Pa
Brush 15 from West End Fire Department, Shippensburg, Pa
Those departments are all in my county and are shootable in 1 day....let me know!!
*All photo's taken from the department's website
Final picture is Engine 1-2 from the HQ Station of the Chambersburg, Pa Fire Department
