Natick's Pierce spent some time on a used firetruck website two years or so ago. Not sure who ended up picking it up.

Any word on when Boston's new Rescue is slated to arrive? I recall they had a few other rigs on order.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the KME Rescue 2, but Ladder 26 is now at HQ.

I believe that Framingham FD had/has a Quantum rear mount were the system malfunctioned while they were going down the road and it hit a car or two.
Framingham still has 3 Quantum rigs with the all wheel steer. Engines 1 & 7 and L3
IS that thier firehouse, because it doesnt look like it will fit in the door.
No this is Engine 2s firehouse...they were there for training
From my understanding there was major issues with the pump. It would keep taking itself out of pump and it did so at a fire i believe. The rig was sent out numerous times and i dont think it was every fixed or understood what was wrong. Skip may have more details but I know it was something with the pump not working properly
Any idea why this rig (a 1999 model) was pulled out of service and replaced with a spare?
Something to that effect. As far as I knew it was assigned to the Academy permanently.

There are pictures up on KME's website. fire.kovatch.com
-Why dual axles on R-1, but not R-2 ? Like 2 different specs ?

-Why dual axles on R-1, but not R-2 ? Like 2 different specs ?
looked on KME`s site RES2CUE is a fantastic looking rig. there was also another rig on there it was a ford f-550 w/a walk in little body on it,is this the new air mask unit or something elese, just curious. JIMMY LONG ESSEX,MD/ FIREBOX 73
UNTIL THE NEXT BOX ALARM.
The piece was designed by the company not the department so it is a different spec than R1.
I noticed that Rescue 2's new truck is a single axle, rather than tandem like Rescue 1. Does this have something to do with the part of town they operate in, or is it a fiscal thing? It is a sharp looking rig. The new Air truck looks pretty standard, should be a positive addition to the fleet.
Thanks

Any idea why this rig (a 1999 model) was pulled out of service and replaced with a spare?
Due to be replaced with either a 2009 or 2010 E\-One in the near future, along with Engine 21. Ladder 6 & Ladder 24 scheduled to receive new rearmounts. Ladder 24's piece was scheduled to go to Ladder 25, but under the terms of the Aid To Firefighters Grant we received, to purchase a TDA, once we got permission to use the money for a rearmount we still had to assign it to Ladder 24. Their current piece, a 1998 E\-One, will be reassigned to Ladder 25.

Judging by the way R2 looks, it looks like they got the short end of the stick-plus what's up with those cheap wheel covers, it will be interesting to see how long they last-now all they need is some curb feelers.
