I know who he is. I've met him at the annual Sept. 11th Memorial Services at 54/4. He got there about 3 years after I had transferred out.

I was talking to a guy, and he was telling there is an issue with the new greaseless boom on the new 'Scopes. They (Seagrave) have a few things to sort out.

Heres a question for anyone from the Big Apple: When specing out aerials (r/mts, towers, tillers) does the jack spread come into consideration? Boston likes the E-ones based solely on the jack spread, while the few Pierce trucks they do run have an "out and down" type of jack spread. Just curious, Thanks in advance.
If you want to see a shot of the new Seagrave Tower for FDNY go to Seagrave.com stock trucks they are selling it as a demo, FDNY rejected it do to something about Mutiplex ( I think to much of it was ) I am NO expert on this just passing along info, should be late September Early Oct for the NEXT 1st Tower LOL

Thanks for the heads up! Has photos, drawings and a good detailed spec sheet on the page.
I wonder if the truck was also rejected due to the new style "cat tracks"? They seem to be sticking out a bit off the sides.
People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?
Can anyone explain "Multiplex" as the reaason why unit wasnt taken and what are the cat tracks on this rig. The demo or stock unit looks like the TL's now in service except for new cab configuration with raised roof.
