firemag & I had given up after leaving King William because the clouds were so bad, but on my way home the sky brightened again so I headed up to Goochland Courthouse to get a picture of their new "wildland interface" vehicle. The picture does not really do it justice, it is BIG!

[quote name='VFN102' post='327258' date='Aug 5 2009, 22:10 ']Today was an odd weather day. This morning it was reasonably sunny so firemag & I took off on a photo junket. First up a couple of Richmond rigs.

Am I the only one that thinks this thing is U G L Y? Feel bad for the brothers at number 14 that have to ride it! Not a fan of the new stripe job and the new "logo" looks awful when its taken out of the patch form. Not sure why they didn't use the patch/door seal that's on all the other rigs.

It looks pretty nice to me. They can get this in better in tighter places than they could the Frieghtliner. I would have preferred the other decal which is on everything else, over that one. But, maybe it is things to come!

Eh, I dunno, I don't think it's that bad. I'm not sure why they didn't use the entire patch on the door, but I do like the new striping and Richmond Fire lettering.

While the door seal might not be my favorite, overall it's a good looking ride. Nice pic.

I liked the old seal better, but the new ones not awful by any means, and the new striping and lettering looks really good, IMO.
This rig, as well as 18's, was designed and built specifically to addres the tight access in certain portions of their areas, and while appearance was likely WAY down on the list of priorities, they ended up with a sharp looking ride!
