According to Harvey Eckart's Mack Fire Trucks 1911-2005 book, it took in 2200 alarms before being removed from service in 1982. I'm sure some others might have more information, though....

According to Chief Calderone's book, The Super-Pumper System, SP-1 & Tender-1 between 1965 and 1982 did 2285 runs

The Utility Support Unit, a 1994 shops conversion of a 1983 Mack Satellite #MS-8302 and body off a 1980 GMC/ComCoach Salvage rig. We (YFD) were almost able to obtain this rig as a spare Rescue when NY Dx'd it.......... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shrug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Shrug' />

I remember this rig being in the rap video for the song "Check the Rhime", by the group "A Tribe Called Quest". Found the video on Youtube and watched it. At 2:13 the rig drives by the video shoot. You can't really tell that it's 317 from the Youtube video, but I remember watching this video on MTV in the early '90's and it was definitely 317.
The only MARC in 46 ENGINE!
