I remember this rig being in the rap video for the song "Check the Rhime", by the group "A Tribe Called Quest". Found the video on Youtube and watched it. At 2:13 the rig drives by the video shoot. You can't really tell that it's 317 from the Youtube video, but I remember watching this video on MTV in the early '90's and it was definitely 317.
Wow Marc, what an obscure reference! I also recall seeing it in there. Good eye! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

Whats with the tarp over the jump seats? Looks aftermarket. keeping the boys out of the elements? They must take it down when they are operating.

Guy I used to work with in 27 Truck started off as a Probie in 162 Truck. This was the rig he rode. I'll ask him about it next time I see him. He's retired now on 3/4's.

It is a spare. We all have magnetic numbers exactly like that for when we receive a spare apparatus.

The Foam Coordinator when I saw this was a BN Chief that was doing MUDs on SI. They were do Drills with many companies at once. They focused on Foam Operations. I learned that if you can use SEA WATER (or Salt water) you can get a THICKER and Longer lasting blanket then normal water. The salt would help the foam thicken.
