Elliottville KY kept it in the same Tamaqua Blue color as their first out rig for several years. It has been replaced as "first out" by a KW / Pierce but I would say they still have it.

Very interesting rig:



1965 Ford F-850 Super Duty/Darley, full cab, 1000/1100, 150 lb. dry chemical system, JFS-300 2-stage pump, 477 CI V-8 gas motor, 5-speed manual transmission, 2.5KW prossar alternator, 35 ft hydraulic rear-mount utility ladder with a one man bucket, like the utility companies use, which was removed from a 1952 rig. The body was removed from the 1952 Dodge chassis. It also has a front-mount pump which was replaced in 1985, which makes this unit a one of a kind. It was put up for sale in 1992 when they got the new pumper. It was finally donated on 3/4/95 to "GOFERS" - Globel Operations Fire Rescue Service who shipped it to Haiti. I guess it never made it there since in 04/07 it was owned by Michael Yarnall-Boyertown,PA. Offered for sale-asked $1200-obo.

I think that this Darley Hendrickson was used in a Darley ad campaign that ran in various fire publications around the time that it was delivered. At the time we were taking delivery of a Darley Hendrickson that was one of the first custom apparatus that they sold in New Jersey so were hoping for the same treatment but they didn't.

1. the cab chassis and pump came from their 1972 brockway/wlf engine the chassis was extented and reinforced to accomadate it being turned into a ladder truck



2. the turntable and platform and ladder came from the 1958 ih/alf



the turntable pedastle and hydraulic outriggers and body came from a 1966 alf ladder truck from waterbury,ct that was found in milewski's junkyard in scranton,pa



3. all work was a joint effort between american fire services,dickson city,pa and covington fire co.
