Here's an other picture of this nice Bogota NJ American La France. I took it in 1993 at the wetdown of the new Bogota ladder truck.

BTW, in those days the phone operators didn't even caller id yet.

I am so sorry to have to do this... but I had called Mr. Dean here about a tour I had planned with him upcoming... I wanted to know where we were going. He said to me... "Well I'll tell you what, not only are we going to Butler.. Mr. Fritz... we are going to Bloomingdale, and Pompton Lakes, and Riverdale, and Pompton Plains, and Pequannock, and Lincoln Park.... we are going to Totawa, Wayne and than we are going to PATTERSON to finish up our trip.....YYYYYYAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY"

Often in our area when fire company, fire department, first aid or rescue squad hosts a celebration similarly named units from outside of that area will recieve special invitations. For example, in Butler NJ we've had a delegation from Butler, Indiana, travel 600 miles for two wetdowns and a parade and was the only other Butler out of 22 invited to respond. Bloomingdale, Illinois, participated in Bloomingdale NJ's parade in 1985.

That is very good considering that in 2004 I was the Butler coordinator of "Dean's for Bush" and now am chairperson of "Dean's for anyone but Howard Dean."



I don't want to make this a political thread by my above comments. The countries that the vast majority our members come from are those where democracy is cherished with everyone able to participate and still be friends with those opposing their viewpoints.
