FLORIDA RIGS
Sunrise E-72 has been up there a MONTH !!!! A 9 month old truck waiting for a new cab lift cylinder for a MONTH..... It is not Ten Eights fault.....it is the Pierce Factory.... In the middle of August they were given a ship date of Sept 4th(ON WARRANTY WORK). This is not a hydraulic lift cylinder for a 15 year old ladder truck.....this is a part from a production line unit (WARRANTY WORK). OUTRAGEOUS... and now they want an an outrageous increase in the cost of a duplicate unit that Sunrise is looking to buy almost 2 years later (from date of the order) . The Consumer Price Index only went up something like 0.1% in 2008. For the first time in almost 30 years social security recipients are not getting a cost of living increase because there was no inflation. But Pierce raised prices 3%. And for a nearly half million dollar fire truck (a pumper) that sits because Pierce Customer Service will take its time getting to you. With all the Velocity's sold to date..why isn't that part sitting on a shelf ready for next day shipment. I would love for someone from Pierce to take the bait on this one and run with it....opening up a whole can of shit on current south Florida Pierce Issues.

They all forget that we talk to each other and network...

PS...Did the Miami Beach PUC ever get in service?

For anyone that may be in the area, or interested, a little birdie told me that Fort Lauderdale's new tower is at 10-8. That was a little bit ago, so it may be at the city shops by now, but it was there about a week ago. Either way, the new tower has left WI.

New Deliveries!! Finally some sunshine lol, Today I ventured out to Coral Springs Fire Station-95 and shot both of their new rigs.

These guys were amazing, special thanks for all their help [Image: thumbsup.gif]

Placed in service just last week, E95 runs a 2009 Pierce Velocity 1500/750.

R95 was also recently placed in service, she is identical to R64 and R80 all of which run 2009 GMC/Taylor Made ALS tranport units.

Managed to find these photos in an email taken during the final inspections of these new rigs for Fort Lauderdale. They are part of an almost total fleet replacement that includes 2 straight stick aerials, 1 tower, all from Pierce. It also includes an order for 9 rosenbauer pumpers, and a hackney squad.

Maybe it's just me....but I can't seem to get more than 200k total in ALL of my posts. As in I can't post a 150k photo in one post, followed by another 150k photo in a 2nd post. This means I can only post 1 photo at ANY time....maybe it's a glitch, or it's just been that long since I uploaded photos.

Thanks FtLAUD...we were all wondering what the rigs looked like (photo taken outside the Pierce Blue room) . Nice....I would really like to see what the mid mount tower looks like. That should be killer ! Glad you guys went with a midmount tower.... almost everyone in South Florida running rear mount towers spots them like shit at fires (pull in cab first and add 45 feet of reach to the target) the midmount is more forgiving and allows for so much more versatility and scrub area

Its just not the same without the EKG striping...still a decent looking rig though

One of two identical Pierce 2009 Velocity 105foot rear mount aerials received at station 88 yesterday (9/21) around noon. Ladders 13 and 35 will get these. They have 1500 gpm single stage Waterous pumps and a 300 gallon booster tank. 7.5Kw diesel generator mounted above pump panel. Front bumper has a ready to go Warn winch which can be removed and inserted in two trailer type hitches mounted just aft of the rear wheels under the body.

March can't get here fast enough. lol. The shot of Palm Beach's tower looks good, even with out it being moved.

Patrick, it sounds like Town of Palm Beach might keep you busy for a few more visits. They told us that they're going to order 2 quints and replace some of the engines soon too (they only have 3)
. One of the 2 older Sutphens will be surplused as well.
