It appears to be a Federal Model X. They were used a lot on military vehicles years back.
Maybe - just mabye Steven Loftin will jump in with his expertise!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

While walking down a bike path in Embrum, Ontario I saw this former Transport Canada Foam Boss parked in a wooded area. I walked around to the front and found it locked in a vacant lot.
Down the street from the Foam Boss, I found this former Ottawa Fire Department body sitting in the lot of a scrap yard. I couldn't find a number on the body, however, the stripes indicate it was most likely a rehab at Almonte Fire Trucks at one time.

Ex body from number 1 pump, Peterbilt Hub rebuilt by Almonte after it crashed into a house -at that time they added an enclosed cab.....removed from service due to a cracked frame if memory serves me correctly....

I found these two this past weekend while in Virginia. The first is lettered for the English VFD. It was sitting in a construction company lot in Hurt, VA.
Found a few trucks during my pinballing around the eastern half of Newfoundland over the past 2 weeks.
None of them had any plates to be found. One of them had a local manufacturer's name on the dash, but the picture of that didn't turn out, and I can't recall the name.
This tanker/tender is resting in a commercial yard in Conception Bay South, a region just outside the capital city of St John's. The faded lettering on the door says RIVERHEAD FIRE DEPARTMENT. I asked some of my family that I was staying with and found there are at least two towns named Riverhead (and perhaps River Head). There were a couple guys working in the loading dock next door, but I doubt they'd've had any info on the truck.
Seen better days..
Front spare tire carrier pushed into the grille.
Interesting cutaway behind the rear axle.. almost as if they were going to make it a tandem at one point.
Rear view.
Next, in the village of Sunnyside, where the Avalon Peninsula connects to the rest of Newfoundland, this curious-looking truck was parked in a dirt lot across the road from the Sunnyside VFD station. The driver's side was inaccessible to me, unfortunately.
At first I thought it was a rescue truck..
Complete with mascot..
Then I went around the back and found these two things.
I can't help imagine a giant red arrow like the one on the Price is Right wheel here..
Homemade fill and/or dump?
Now we move on to Leading Tickles. This town is at the very north end of the main part of the island, right on the coast of the North Atlantic.
And in Oceanview Park, a couple miles from their volunteer fire station, is this..
Note the newer-looking name on the door. Maybe it was someone else's originally? For what it's worth, this town is a few dozen kilometers up the road from another village called Point Leamington.
This is the only truck where I actually found a rating plate. Here it is, all you sleuths..
Inside of the cab. Mico brake alert! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> My father has a funny tale about one of these accidentally engaging on his old department's 1200 gallon tanker at 55 MPH.
Close up of the dash. Wonder if that's only 17,000 miles? And if that poor truck ever saw 100 MPH, I wouldn't've wanted to be there!
The "proper" shot of this 1962 Dodge 500 la France.
Close up of the Dodge (or Dodg)'s front grille.
That's all I've got - one more for the "Canada Eh?" thread.
Here is an old Maxim engine I shot about 2 years ago at Eastern Kentucky University in Lexington,KY. It was lettered for the fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha, but does anyone recognize it or know where it formerly served? Sorry, no serial numbers or anything, this was a grab shot.

The Dodge 500 was sold new to Windsor, that's the name that's covered up in the photo. Glad you took photo of ID plate, I have copy of factory photo of this truck, lights have been upgraded, also added is the light strip / panel above the gauges, but it's the same truck. Sorry no one is taking care of it, hate to see ole Dodge's in this shape.
THANKS for sharing!!
Take Care,
Nollie

That would make some sense, as Leading Tickles is not too too far from Grand Falls-Windsor. (Maybe 100 miles.)

Looks like the 1960 model that served Rippon (CA). Info obtained from an issue of FAJ. Could be wrong.
Here are some pictues of an LF I found outside of a Restaurant on my wasy to Sayre , PA last week while taking part of the windshield frame to a machine shop that makes antique windshield frames. Only a 576 mile round trip. But it was a nice day for a ride.
