4 July 2003. Note the newly (back then, at least...) constructed townhomes- in a neighborhood that once resembled downtown Beirut.....Or Newark..... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/machinegun.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Machinegun' />

31 Truck's Tower Ladder. Just a bit bigger than the ALF Tiller seen in "The Bronx is Burning."

"CAPTAIN INSANO!" This is the LCC of 31 Truck, who had, the night tour preceding this day work, celebrated his 20th year on the job. He was in quite a giddy mood (although according to the other members of 82/31 that was not unusual) and stopped all traffic on Intervale Avenue wearing this outfit so that we could get the pictures. He swore he was going to wear the helmet on any runs. Great guy, even invited us to his 20 year meal that evening, but unfortunately we had to pass. The rest of the guys were awesome too. Highly recommended stop for any Bronx buffing. Marc, any idea of his ID and if he is still on the job?

Another shot of the newer engine, shown previously in this thread, after the members removed the white numerals and added gold leaf.

Dont know when I took this, but obviously at the Rock, and from the bus in the background I have to assume it was one of the JMFP bus trips.

My one experience at 82/31 was back in the early 80's as an EMT on a transport from Ct. into the Bronx. my partner and i did some early sightseeing before heading back. we were recieved with open arms and ushered into the kitchen to partake of breakfast with the brothers. never expected such a warm reception and i will ALWAYS remember that morning!!
