Roof top parking no longer used

I was looking at the pictures from the front of this station and figured the weather siren HAD to be almost level with the parking garage... I keep going through the pictures yelling at the screen "Please let him have a picture from the parking garage to show how close the siren was" and sure enough.. here is the money shot! Great pictures, thank you very much for them... I love sirens and love to see all of the ones shown in this thread so far!! Great shots!!

Fire House 1

Replaced a classic two story fire house on the same location.

Current Fire Pole from the mezzanine area, there is a gate at the top. This was the fire pole from the old house.

Note: They are also storing the old fire house three pole.

Retired Fire House 3

built 1953

Lower level Street side.

This fire house looks very cool the bays face a busy street and the second floor is the main entrance facing a neighborhood street and looks like a house. This had one fire pole that was removed and is stored at fire house one. It was called the speed pole due the small diameter of the pole.

Recognize the name on the stone Leo M. Ellebracht. Mr. Ellebracht was the Missouri Seagrave Dealer for many many years and supplied the St. Louis Metro and Kansas City Metro with superior Seagrave Fire Apparatus. You know real fire engines and trucks even some that bend in the middle <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Fire House 1

Quint, Ambulance

The first floor has the watch office and weight room. The second floor has the kitchen, day room, bunk room, and locker room. Their is one steel fire pole that drops from the bunk room next to the ambulance. This is one of the coolest fire houses and will be replaced in the next two years sadly.

U-City received a grant to build a new fire house one the current building is need of replacement structurally.

NOTE: The design feature were the large pumper bay door is cut. Note the original building design in the next photo of the rear.

Thanks to Chief Olshwanger for the tour.
