Is Engine 303 assigned to Dulles or National? I only ask because I was under the impression that the odd numered rigs were at National and even number rigs as Dulles.

I think it was already addressed elsewhere in this thread but MWAA with new rigs is matching the existing Council of Governments (COG) numbering scheme for the region. ARFF-FF can probably add more. Station 301 is at National, Stations 302, 303 and the new 304 are at Dulles.

Engine 303 is indeed at Dulles at Station 303.

I shot Engine 301 at National Airport today. It was a fabulous day for pictures in DC. Thanks to everyone at Station 303 the other day and Station 301 today. Station 301 is a newly constructed Station that replaced the old cramped quarters. It is very nice. I have over 300 shots I have to go through. I picked one at random to post. Enjoy until I get get more up. Oh, thbey have been using DC Fire Engine 62 a Seagrave pumper while they were waiting for their new rig to arrive.

First sunny day of my fall trip to DC. I got back to Station 303 to get some full sun set up shots of Engine 303. I will try to do some editing on them and post 1 or 2 before I head back if I get a chance. Otherwise they will be up in a week or so.

MWAA is expecting delivery of the Arrow XT aerial tower they ordered in March. It will be assigned to the "big" station, Station 302. Under the new numbering scheme I suspect it's radio designator will be Tower 302. I will see if I can find out before March.

Oh forgot to add.......the Quantum that was at Dulles Station 303 is now in reserve status and is at Station 301 at National Airport. The current truck the 75' Lance Quint will be sold once the Tower arrives.

Oh Tim, thanks for correcting me, Truck 338 is an Arrow, and yes 1991, 1500GPM, 300GWT. You are also correct on RE 324.

Engine 303 is no longer designated as a Rescue Engine at Dulles and I am not sure if Engine 301 has kept the Rescue Engine designation either. I don't think so.

Thanks Paul. I wanted to get back and get shots similar to the shots I had got of Engine 301 at National back in June. The MWAA stations make good back drops.

The New Engine's look nice. A few questions since we are talking about all the MWAA apparatus.

With the former RE-324 off to National, I assume that only leaves E-303 and E-380 at Dulles for Engine's?

Will E-380 be re-numbered to match the Station it is assigned to? I believe that's Station 302.

Will the Medic units also be re-numbered?

Whatever happened to the Arrow Engine that caught fire from Dulles? I can only assume that it was scrapped. Poor thing!

One more.....Will the new Tower be a Quint, or just a Truck?

Thanks

I have not heard of any move to renumber units. I know moving forward I have heard they intend to use the new numbering scheme. Perhaps ARFF-FF knows for sure if he seest his post, but I believe the Arrow was a total loss. I am pretty sure the Tower is a quint but I will confirm when I can.

The Quantum is now an Engine, we no longer have Rescue Engines at the Airports. All new units being purchased will be numbered for what station they run out of and as of right now we will not be re-numbering any of the older units.

The new Tower is going to be a quint and from what I hear will be the primary unit our of 302 and E-380 will become a reserve.
