Apparently they tried it out on an Expedition, and the chief liked it so much he insisted all their new cars be painted that way. I think it's an interesting variation on what is becoming an all consuming trend to go back to black & white cars.
I have to track down a car from a nearby department he also set up, their Charger is black with silver doors.

It's not that great a picture, shot with my little point and shoot, with its 3x optical zoom, through a tinted plate glass window. But I do like the airliner and baggage handling equipment as context.
From the county where I live and volunteer, one of the five chargers now in service. The PSO originally purchased three V8's, and then got a screaming deal on two matching V6's. The graphics are new...
The older CV's used this basic striping package, which is being replaced with the style found on the Chargers.
