E-One Fire Apparatus
I thought there would be more 135' aerials, knowing how Volunteer Fire companys like to out do each other.

Does any one know if they are still made? and if there were any problems with the 135' aerial?

Here's what I came up with from an E\-One list supplied to me by Bill Friedrich. I know this is not complete and corrections are always welcome. The list is in order of E\-One SO#.

Many thanks for the replies and list!

I came up with a total of 27, 21 domestic, and 6 exports. I presume "Knightstown,NJ. is really Hightstown?

Anyone have a pic of the Huntingdon,WV. rig? Anyone know the disposition of the West Lanham Hills rig?

As unimpressed as I usually am about E-1,however, these were true firefighting battleships!

The 5 delivered for Sao Paulo is very ironic, considering that city's history with high-rise fires...

I know of 11:

Wash DCFD - 2 (1 wrecked, 1 rebuilt with new cab)

Fairfax Co.,Va - 2 (1 went to Berryville,VA.)

Chicago - 2

West Lanham Hills,MD. - 1(sold several years ago)

Monroeville,PA. - 1 (currently 4-sale)

Hightstown,NJ - 1

Syracuse,NY - 1

Westmont,Ill. - 1

Here's the 1st DCFD 135'; the 1983 Spartan/E-1 was very handsome with the old-style DC scheme and twin Beacon rays. J.D Floyd photo, Jenkins collection[/quote]

Our 135' (Monroeville Fire) is still on the block with a very serious buyer looking at it right now. We should hear something shortly about that. The replacement to the "LEGEND" will be a 2009 E\-One Cyclone 2 Super Tiller. Delivery inspection will be Sept 17 & 18. It will then leave for the dealer for about 14 days and arrive at the house approx October 15, maybe earlier. We will then be working diligently on drivers / operators training, equipment marking, and all of the other associated BS.

Last pictures i saw under strict watch (nothing will be leaked to the press :-0) all of the work for the most part complete and the tiller cab should be set this week.

As an update to the 135' roster......

The Galveston 135' was sold to Jamaica Beach Volunteer Fire Department, located on the west end of Galveston Island, a few years back. It was sold for $1 with the agreement that if it is needed then Jamiaca Beach will respond into the city with it.

When Hurricane Ike came thru last year and severly damaged both Galveston Island and the City of Galveston, this rig was one of the ones saved by relocating it inland ahead of the storm and promtly returned to service immediately afterwards.

Jamiaca Beach put a few bucks into it to get it up to speed when they obtained it, mainly involving hydraulic system repairs/improvements.

Hope this helps.

I show the Lanham Hills MD Ladder going from Hebron MD to Techno FEU Quebec Canada. This is per the sold rigs on Fenton Fire Equipment's website. I don't know if Hebron is the same as Lanham Hills, or an additional department that owned it.

Hebron is nowhere near West Lanham Hills....... Just FYI....

Hightstown, NJ still has theirs (why they have a 135ft ladder is beyond me).

That makes sense, as it was replaced by a Pierce, and a Pierce dealer (now Seagrave) was located in Hebron at that time. Fenton was probably the broker, especially since it went out of the USA. There are a number of apparatus dealers on Maryland's eastern shore, where Hebron is; (about 30 miles west of Ocean City).

Thanks for the info.
