Not really, just excited! I'm waiting for Tampa to try the Velocity chassis...

Don't think that will be anytime soon Alex, the experiment with the Enforcers didn't fair well as one of the many items disliked was the lack of space in the cab. Spoke recently with a friend who is a Captain on the job and on the Spec Group for pumpers, they were just recently in WI for a meeting at Pierce for the purchase of six pumpers and the chassis will remain the Quantum. TFR has since 1997 been very happy with the Quantum's sturdiness and ability to withstand the hard use. There may bee some sublte changes, but look for these six to resemble the last three, E1, E5 and E12.

That's quite understandable. I was only half-joking. Is the Quantum chassis still the most expensive?

I guess there isn't much more on the horizon for TFR, after doing a lot of purchasing in the last few years. I need to go check out Temple Terrace's new Quantum PUC.

Is Tower Co. 2 a new company taking the place of Quint Co. 2 or Ladder Co. 2?

And speaking of which, are they calling their trucks quints or trucks these days in Fort Lauderdale? I know they switched back and forth for a while.

Thanks in advance.

Ladder 68,

Tower 2 is replacing the Ladder at Station 2.

In Fort Lauderdale, the Aerial Apparatus are called Ladders. Ex. Ladder 13, Ladder 35....

Where they ever called "Quints"? I thought at some point they did.

AAre all Ladder Co.'s in quarters with an Engine Co. or function as stand alone companies sincce they are technically quints?

What is going to become of Ladder 2's rig? Re-assigned or reserve?

Thanks for the information.

Ladder 68,

Correct! About 2-3 years ago, maybe a little longer, Fort Lauderdale did in fact refer to their ladder company's as quints, that has since changed. As of right now, until Tower-2 is placed in service the callsigns are as follows; Ladder-2, Ladder-13 and Ladder-35.

When Tower-2 is in fact placed in service, Ladder-2 will become a reserve.

They only have 3 truck companies? I always thought it was more than that...

And was there ever a Ladder/Quint 49?

And so they will have a '05 as a reserve...good for them.

Thanks for the information.

I recently purchased a polarizing filter for my D60. Today, I shot a couple of my departments rigs as a test,

both Ladder-23 and Engine-20 were previously posted in this thread.

Here are the results with the polarizing filter, amazing! [Image: BananaMan.gif]
