I didn't realize you were gonna be at McDowell! Did you take a class or did you have your Seagrave hidden somewhere?

These next two are just re-shoots because they re-named the trucks.

I was excited to shoot these next 3 trucks for several reasons. 1.) they are all old trucks from "up north" as everyone around here says, 2.) I've been trying to shoot them for several years now with no results; and 3.) they all serve agencies where nobody is ever home when I go shoot them! I found them parked at a garage in Newport, TN today being repaired. Apparently the owner of the garage is going into the fire truck repair business and he said I was welcome to come shoot the trucks he's working on anytime I want to! (Hmmph, he already sounds better than the evil, hateful folks at Anchor Richey piece of junk, right Micah?!) Who cares if these aren't perfect pictures?! I'm just happy to finally get ANY picture of them...

I thought this truck was long gone. Apparently, it's still in service, just being repaired! It's twin (although painted white/red) still serves the Cocke County VFD, only a few miles down the road from Del Rio! They are only one serial # apart!

And this was a surprise to find too. I'd seen this in Long Creek's station when Micah and I stopped there several years ago, but it disappeared after that. I was glad to find it in one piece!

I was finally able to get a picture of this truck yesterday. This truck was sold on GovDeals.com and the final sale was completed Monday night at 9pm. Thankfully, the new owner was waiting until 2pm yesterday to come pick the truck up. I was able to get this shot about 0745 yesterday morning thanks to a good friend on Pittman Center VFD.

I went to this station to catch a new engine they'd recieved from an FD in New York, only to find out that the engine was parked at a members house. I tried calling the member, but he wouldn't answer. I hadn't shot this truck from CCRCFD yet, so I figured I'd make the best of the situation and leave with one pic rather than none.

These next two definitely aren't new deliveries; in fact they are the oldest trucks in PFFD's fleet now; I'd just never found anyone willing to pull them out for me until yesterday. This tanker is due to be replaced in 2011 with an IHC 4400/4Guys 1800gal tanker that is already in production. Also, for those of you who have visited PFFD before, Tanker 29, the 9000gal "tractor drawn tanker" that PFFD operated, has been sold. The truck went somewhere, and the tanker trailer went to the street department. Also "Engine 22", the ALF Pioneer is now serving Waldens Creek, TN as "Engine 64", and PFFD "Engine 21", the Ford C/ALF, was scrapped.
