Not sure it this is the one but...

They had a black ALF like this with the Playboy Bunny logo painted on the door. I have seen one like this also - in private hands now (or was back in 1990 or so).

Colesville NJ 1929 Pirsch 350gpm

Still owned by department for events

Colesville is part of the Wantage Township Fire Department. A few hundred feet north of their firehouse there is a driveway like narrow road with a street sign "Pirsch Lane" off of NJ State Highway 23, which is only 2 lanes at that point. The Colesville guys have told me that this little gem is stored in a garage on Pirsch Lane.

Beemerville is also in Wantage Township. For many years Colesville and Beemerville were marked as separate fire departments but at some point in recentg years they become companies of the Wantage Township Fire Department.

Back in 1970, when Vernon Township and Sussex County NJ was still extremely rural, Hugh Hefner built a hotel resort in McAfee with more than 500 guest rooms on at least 5 floors. This followed the opening of 3 separate ski resorts in the township. I know for a fact that the hotel included a fully equipped casino as the state government promised Hef that he would get the first gaming license outside of Nevada but it never happened. Also a northwest extension of the Garden State Parkway from Bergen County to Port Jervis NY was planned to go close to this site. Our aerial ladder in Butler (24 miles south) was on call for years for any working fire at the hotel at a time when Sussex County only had one aerial which was in Newton about 20 miles west and Warwick NY was actually the closest about 8 miles north. Back then the county population was less than 50,000 and today it is still under 200,000 with a number of farms still operational.

The reason for my knowledge about Hef and the "Rat Pack" deal is because of former members of companies in my area (20 miles south) who had moved to Vernon and were active in McAfee FD and Vernon Township with them obtaining their information from other long time residents and officials.

Don't know if they still have this or not; I'm thinking not. Groveville FC of Hamilton Twp, Mercer County, NJ Eng 191 was a 1988 PemFab/3D 1500/1000. I took this at a parade down Constitution Ave in Washington, DC in 1988.
