Could this be F-1666? According to E. Hass' Crown book it was originally delivered to Placentia FD, CA (which became Orange County) then became Truck 17 in Santa Ana and later sold to West Coast Arborists.

It is. I had written down the F Number as F-1668 for some reason. I can't remember now what had happened, but in any event, it is F-1666.

Since we have to start over again, I'm digging way back in the archives.



My wife caught this one on Route 9 in Berwick, ME in 1995. It's long gone now, along with its companion Seagrave.

I can throw in a few that would make you cry. Photographer unknown, a 1920's Maxim (whats left of it) down in Newark NJ a few years ago.

1940's Maxim from Turn of River (Stamford, CT) that was down in NJ last year. It was parted out by me unfortunately and scrapped by the owner shortly after.

I posted these in their own thread a few days ago, but I think they belong better here. Former Gloucester, MA Engine 4 and Engine 6, both 1976 Ford/Pierce 1000/500 sitting in a truck lot in Gloucester for sale. Both were retired from service last year with the arrival of the Sutphens.

Hopefully someone will scoop these up before they meet a sad end, they both appear in great shape cosmetically, although theres no telling what mechanical issues lie underneath.

We had a late 1980's Ford C cab/E-One in service in Danvers when I started. It was running as our reserve engine but was the best running truck we had at the time.



The department traded it in when we purchased a new engine and only got a few grand on the trade-in. A few months later we saw it for sale in a used fire truck catalog tripled in price. We know it was ours because the right rear tire was changed shortly before it was sold and it still had the BLUE tire rim. We never painted it because we knew we were getting rid of it. I guess the seller didnt see the need either....amazing.

Hey, I remember that truck. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Growing up I had a favorite truck in each city/town, and that was my favorite from Danvers during the 80's when it was running as Engine 3 out of the station by 128, it was still lime green and it had a single gumball-machine with a clear lens, and two small strobes on the roof.



I think the thing that appealed to me the most at the time was the color, not much lime left by the late 80's so it was pretty unique. I saw it advertised somewhere as well, and later heard somewhere that it was sold to a small town in Maine.



The Gloucester Engine 4 that I posted had an asking price of $7,500 on it, it may or may not be a fair price, either way it's too much for my budget. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

I have 9 pics that will make the Buffalo members cry. I spotted this rig on Route 20A between Geneseo and Leiciester. I'm not sure which Buffalo fire ladder this was. The number on the door was painted over, it looked like a 6 but I know the old ladder 6 is in our lot at work. Can anyone help identify this rig?
