Sadly Coffeyville had a fire chief in the mid 1980's that believed in ugly yellow. So in 1985 as many fire department's returned to red or white Coffeyville began to transition to yellow. I visited CFD in 1993 and the fleet was still primarily red and still could be saved. However in the following years yellow took hold. Most of the Firemen would like to see red return. The current Chief has commented the next Real Fire Truck or Engine will most likely be RED. Sadly the damage has been done the the rich department history has been altered.
NOTE: This was the first Yellow machine purchased. This was involved in a very serious accident and was rebuilt. The lady that hit the Engine "stated she did not see it, after all it did not look like a fire engine since it was yellow. Funny stuff like I say RED, White, or Black over RED are the only three colors for Fire Trucks and Engines.

1250/500
1100ft Haney Hose Reel
This is the most disliked rig in the department. Could it be the sunroof in the cab, the Euro look, or the big reel. The firemen say its a breeze to reverse lay at a fire and to pick up. Overall they really did not have any good things to say. The Chief that switched to Yellow purchased this machine with no input from the men and then left the department.
