Been out shooting a bunch of fire houses recently here on my side of the river as I was shooting the firehouses for my collection I found some fire trucks also sitting outside so I grabbed them as well.

Also during my fire station spree back in march while up in Edwardsville,IL I caught Unit 1391 sitting outside it is a 2008 Ford Explorer.

Went to Glen Carbon,IL FD Open House for EMS Week back in May and I caught their Antique Fire Truck Sitting inside not sure on the specs on this one any help would be great I know its a Dodge, other than that im not sure.

not looking to second guess you Ilfirebuff but that Venice reserve 1978 Ford looks like a Bean to me. distinctive hose reel covers and pump panel.



also...lol if you had gone over to Johnson Rd to GC Co 3....i bet you wouldn't have found them in house....they're ALWAYS out!!

ok Thanks for the correction TNT I did go pass Eng hse 3 in GC and both trucks were in the house a pumper and an ambulance. lol.

Engine 4 was in a Mack add in the 1960's and also in Walt McCall's book American Fire Engine's since 1900. Very cool photos, see you soon brother.

Frond sheet metal told me it was a 1941 or early 1942 Dodge, but checked the Glen Carbon Website and found out it is "1941 Dodge / Central - purchased new by department - but now owned by Fire Safety Inc. Wood River IL" Sounds like Fire Safety returns it to Glen Carbon when ever they want it for events etc. Great find, nice photo!

gentlemen hopefully you could help me. I am looking to find out when the fire engine rally is this year. I have been there in the past but i cant for the life of me think of when it was for sure. Im thinking on or around sept 11th. it is the one in downtown st louis not the jeffco rally. please let me know and if any of you know if there is a group thats going around to hit some other area departments please let me know that as well. thanks for your assistance and as always stay safe and stay lowwwwww Rob

Saturday. September 11, 2010. For the 3rd year it will be held under the Arch on the riverfront. I believe the parade usually begins either at 9 or 10 am.
