IIRC, it has a 1500 gpm pump, 300 gallon tank & a 75' stick. I didn't get any detail shots. The current order of 5 TDQs being built by KME will have 100' sticks.

Thanks, very interesting piece.

The first Dodge Squad is now in service as Squad 64 in San Dimas.
Always wondered this, especially in the LA area, whats the deal with tillered quints? Is it to still provide a level of protection when Strike Forces are called upon, or is there another reason? Just curious.

The way it was explained to me was that the Fire Chief wanted to keep houses occupied with a pump. That way, if needed, the engine from an Eng/Quint house could be used on Strike Team duty, extended move up coverage, etc., they would have a unit that could respond on fire runs & still be able to shoot some water. As to why Tillered Quints? I don't know. Currently, there are only 4 straight framed quints in service. They are 86 159 162 & 187.

Casey you forgot Quint 153 in Covina in Battalion 16. Quint 86 use to be former Quint 166 stationed in Battalion 10 when 166's got there new 100ft tiller quint the straight frame qunit went to 86s.
Also the County Board of Service has given approval to the LACoFD to seek bids to replace Engine 55 the only type 3 in the department, Engine 55 stationed on Catalina and the terrain requires them to have a Type 3.

Was the Body special for the RT? It does not look like the others that LACo has... (Dozer Tenders, Supt, or Squad bodies)

It is essentially the same design as the squad bodies just the height of the body are now higher (it meets with the roofline of the cab) and there is a roller top compartment in the rear like the heavy squads. From what I have heard, all the new squads will have a body similar to this design.
Some dozer tenders or superintendent trucks with the smaller utility bodes are built by a different company than the one who builds the squads.
