NOTE: This Fire House sits at a unique angle facing the road near a major intersection. This once housed the Reserve Snorkel after the Ladder was purchased.
I was looking at the pictures from the front of this station and figured the weather siren HAD to be almost level with the parking garage... I keep going through the pictures yelling at the screen "Please let him have a picture from the parking garage to show how close the siren was" and sure enough.. here is the money shot! Great pictures, thank you very much for them... I love sirens and love to see all of the ones shown in this thread so far!! Great shots!!
Truck, Reserve-Engine, Battalion Chief, Mobile Command, Tech Rescue Trailer.
All living quarters are on second floor. Administration is on first floor.
The white dome across the top of the bays a hallway. To the rear is the bunk room over the bays. The right over the Administration offices is the day room, locker room, kitchen. To the left the hallway leads to the training tower on the north side of the building sticking up. One Brass Fire Pole is from the bunk room and one Brass Fire Pole is from the hallway.
This fire house looks very cool the bays face a busy street and the second floor is the main entrance facing a neighborhood street and looks like a house. This had one fire pole that was removed and is stored at fire house one. It was called the speed pole due the small diameter of the pole.
Recognize the name on the stone Leo M. Ellebracht. Mr. Ellebracht was the Missouri Seagrave Dealer for many many years and supplied the St. Louis Metro and Kansas City Metro with superior Seagrave Fire Apparatus. You know real fire engines and trucks even some that bend in the middle <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

One Brass Fire Pole drops from the main bunk hall it is easily accessed from all areas of the second floor. U-City received a grant to build a new fire house one the current building is need of replacement structurally.
NOTE: The design feature were the large pumper bay door is cut. Note the original building design in the next photo of the rear.
The original fire house is the ambulance-reserve engine bay. The addition houses the truck. The watch office, kitchen, day room are on the first floor. The bunk room, locker room, training room are on the second floor. The brass fire pole is in the original fire house, it is no longer is functional however the floor-hole is designed so it can be reopened.
