Where/What was this US Navy Facility @ Bainbridge, MD?
[/quote]
It was a Naval Traning Base that was established during WW2. It opened in 1942. It was named in honor of Commodore William Bainbridge. It was located in Port Deposit, MD on the former Tome School Property. The Navy closed the base in 1976. Shortly after the Navy leased the property to the Job Corps Center which occupied most of the former Navy buildings until the early 1990s. Since that time, the site has sat mostly vacant. The majority of the old Navy buildings demolished. Many of the original Tome School buildings still stand and some have been somewhat restored. There have been many proposals for reuse of the site, including a NASCAR track and a major theme park among others (can you say Disney?). All have been rejected by local residents in fear of rampant development. Here is a site dedicated to the base: http://www.usntcb.org/
