There was never a U.S. Steel mill in Irwin PA. The predecessor to U.S.Steel was Carnegie Steel. Andrew Carnegie merged his operations after the turn of the last century with J.P. Morgan Steel to form the United States Steel Corp. I think Mike is right in the miss lettering. I will look through my pictures of some of the musters we attended to try to find pictures of John's Mack.
