This rig has had an interesting career. It is still in service, running out of their main station. The wheelbase is short so it can fit into the station.

1987 Spartan Monarch/Saulsbury, canopy cab, 1500/750. It was housed on 8/6/88, 8V92TA Detroit diesel, 475 HP, automatic, Onan 6 KW generator. Delivered late – did not meet spec. While responding to a call one night in early 1989, it rolled over slightly injuring the firefighters on board. There was extensive damage to the body and it was sent back to Saulsbury to be rebuilt. It was out of service all of 1989 and 1990. It was involved in another accident on Telegraph Road on 8/9/96 while responding to a AFA at a private residence. the engine went up the private drive crossing a bridge which collapsed. Unfortunately more damage was done to it trying to get it out. It was sent to Saulsbury the very next day. It was returned from Saulsbury on 12/21/96 and placed back into service on 1/2/97.
