THIS ENGINE WAS SITTING AT HOLLIDAYSBURG'S FIRE STATION A COUPLE YEARS AGO. IT IS AN EX- ALTOONA ENGINE.
DAVE BOWEN PHOTO
IT IS A 1926 BUFFALO 500/500
ALTHOUGH IT WAS LETTERED FOR HOLLIDAYSBURG, ACCORDING TO THE SIGN NEXT TO IT, I BELIEVE IT WAS NEVER OWNED BY THEM.

Dave, according to Leonard Alewine's Logan Twp. history, this 1926 Buffalo was the last rig of the Lakemont Terrace VFC, which was annexed by Altoona in 1929. The station and apparatus were sold to the city, and volunteers responded with a paid driver until 1942. It is listed on Peter West's list as privately owned.
